We continued our walking tour of Askeaton... This is the site of the Knights Templar Tower ruin dated at 1298. It is very unusual in that the bottom of the bell tower is square and the top is octagonal which is something common in Norman architecture.   The St Mary's Church of Ireland built in 1840, stands to the right of it.
